I just wanted to say hi, and that I am proud to be one of the newest members to your tribe. I look forward to many thoughtful conversations, and stories about your warrior spirit(s).

Re: Warrior Women!
Sun, December 18, 2005 - 8:30 AM~~A story for you Kamika,
A few years ago my best friend of 16 years was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. She was also a student of mine in a martial art, one rank below black belt. For two years she went through surgeries and endless chemo. Always upbeat and positive for her three children and new husband of six months. Only in those quiet and secluded 'girlfriend' moments did she cry and yell about the unfairness and pain of it all. About four months before she died, I held a promotion ceremony and surprised her by calling her up and presenting her with a black belt. Of course she asked why and I told her: "Training is about warriorship and warriorship isn't about techniques or kata. You have more than embraced and exemplified the true warrior spirit".
